Three Ways We (and Eve) Justify Sin

September 26, 2018

Three Way We ( & Eve) Justify Sin| Transformed4More.com| Ministry for Teenage Girls

“I know cheating isn’t necessarily right, but it will help me get a better average for the class.”

“He is soooooooo cute and asked me for a picture. A sexy one won’t hurt.”

Thoughts like these, as well as many others, creep into our mind when an enticing sin presents itself.  In fact, these thoughts take us ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL the way back to the Garden of Eden. In the encounter between Eve and the serpent, a.k.a. Satan,  Eve thinks three distinct thoughts to convince herself to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

In today’s post, we will discuss those thoughts and how they are still used to justify sin today.

The Significance of Repentance (the forgotten part of salvation)

September 20, 2018

The Significance of Repentance| Transformed4More| Christianity

A few years ago, I was teaching a group of teenage girls, and I asked them how many  had ever heard the words “repentance” or “repent”. Out of the group of eight girls, all of whom had grown up in church, only one raised her hand. I probed further and asked if she could put in her own words what it meant; she could not.

Unfortunately, I cannot say I was shocked by these findings. In a modern culture that unapologetically accepts and parades sin, and even “churches” who accept open sin, it is easy to see why this aspect of salvation is largely left by the wayside.

Today, I want to explain what repentance is and its importance in the process of salvation.

Three Biblical Truths About Little White Lies

January 9, 2018

Three Biblical truths about those little white lies| Transformed4More| Christian Girls| Blog for Teenage Girls|

White lie. False witness. Fib. Falsehood. Fabrication. Perjury. Forgery. Dishonesty. Deception.

These words all boil down to one concept- lying– and all of us have been guilty of it. In fact, it’s probably the most committed sin of them all.

As humans, we tend to put “degrees” on lying. We think that “a little white lie” to save someone’s feelings is not that bad. After all, we’re just trying to make them feel good, right?

Three Life-Changing Takeaways from Psalm 23

September 6, 2017

Three Takeaways from Psalm 23| Transformed4more.com| Ministry for Teenage Girls| Christian

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want…” Sound familiar?

Psalm 23 is likely one of the most recognizable chapters in the Bible. We learn it in Sunday School, see it in funeral programs, and notice it on church décor. Even those who do not attend church have likely heard this psalm a few times during their life.

When verses and chapters become familiar to us, we tend to not pay as close of attention to them. When we see it in our Bibles, it can be tempting to think, “Oh, I know what this says already. Why read it again?”

Here’s why: because the Bible is a “living document.” In 2 Timothy 16-17, Paul writes, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” The word of God always has something new to glean and learn, even if it’s from a familiar passage.

What to Do First When You Get “Earth Shattering” News

August 15, 2017

What to do First when You Receive Earth Shattering News| Transformed4More.com| Blog for Teenage Girls

I was 15 when I was told I might have cancer. That I might never be able to have kids. That I might have to have all of my “female parts” removed to avert a crisis. Fifteen.

How do you face a prognosis like this at that age? Why would God have a young person face this? What did they mean I may never have kids? Like never ever? Questions like these filled my mind.

So what do you do? What is the first thing to do when you receive “earth shattering” news?

Tell your friends? Family? Church? Drive around and cry? Plead? Beg?
