It’s Time to Break the Chains

January 8, 2019

It's Time to Break the Chains| Transofmred4More.com| Ministry for Teenage Girls

January is the time that people see “New year, new you!” slogans everywhere, and they’re usually advertising for new diet plans or workout memberships.

I actually hesitated to write a post like this because I don’t want it to come off as “cheesy” or just another “improve your life” gimmick. However, I can assure you, that I mean business. Probably more now than I ever have when it comes to this blog.

Last year, I read so many articles about the proverbial “chains” affecting teenagers. The skyrocketing of depression, anxiety, self harm, suicide, porn, drugs…you name it. And you know what?

I. am. sick. of. it.

I am so tired of watching teenagers, and people general, live defeated, unfulfilled, confused, and purposeless lives. This year I want to help whoever stumbles upon us to break the chains in their lives.

Two Verses to Remember when You Need Encouragement

November 13, 2018

Encouragement. It’s something I definitely need at this point in my life.

Lately, I have been plagued by the feeling that nothing I do matters because it doesn’t seem that anyone cares about what I do.

I know that this is a “straight up” lie because raising tiny humans matters. The work I do on this blog for the Lord matters. Being a good wife matters. Shining the light of Christ in a dark world matters. However, from time to time, I just get discouraged.

However, there are two verses that I keep referring back to to help me through this time, so I thought it would be appropriate to share with you.

The video below is approximately three minutes and I hope that you feel better after you watch it 🙂

Three Subtle Signs You’re Growing Distant from God

January 31, 2018

Have you ever been in a relationship where you grew distant from each other and eventually “grew apart”? One where you stopped putting in much effort and it eventually ended?

To thrive, every relationship needs to be nurtured and the same is true with our relationship with God. But how do you know you’re growing distant from God when he’s not a physical being you can see?

To help answer this question, Susan and I did the following vlog to help!

Three Steps to Overcoming “Secret” Sins

March 9, 2017

Three Steps to Overcoming Secret Sin| Christian Struggles| Teenage Struggles| Ministry for Teenage Girls| Transformed4More.com

Amber listened intensely for her parents to click off their bedroom light. “Finally,” she exhaled, “they’re asleep.” She waited another 10 minutes, then snuck downstairs to where her parents kept the alcohol. She quietly opened the cabinet, opened a bottle, and took a swigs. Amber had been doing this for months; however, lately she noticed that she wanted more. She knew if she did more her parents would start to notice and she couldn’t risk that. “Why can’t I just quit?”

Courtney watched her sister’s car pull out of the driveway. She knew she had to be quick, so she ran upstairs to the bathroom, closed the door, took out her cell phone, pulled off her top, and began taking provocative pictures to send her boyfriend. She knew she looked hot, but deep down felt like this wasn’t the right way to make their relationship grow.

These girls are struggling with “secret” sins; sins hidden from others that they struggle with silently. There are other sins besides alcohol and sexting. You could be struggling with porn, drugs, smoking, lying, disobeying your parents, lust, or any number of things you feel that you and the person you engage in the activity with know.

Sometimes you know you need to stop, you’re just not sure how. In today’s blog, we’ll discuss three ways to overcome these sins, find forgiveness, and get your life back on track. At the end there is an action plan worksheet you can print off that will help you do this! Let’s get started!
