Five Songs About Breaking Chains & Walking in Freedom

March 20, 2019

Dear Teenager| It's Time to Break the Chains| Transformed4More.com

Music.

I love music.

I think part of the reason God created it was to help us express ourselves in ways that conversations and the written word (outside of the Bible) can’t.

To help wrap up the Break the Chains series, I wanted to give these five powerful songs about overcoming sin and walking in freedom. The Bible says in Romans 13:12,

The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. ”

I hope these songs help you “cast off” the darkness and walk in the light and freedom of God. Here we go!

5 Songs about breaking chains & freedom

“Death was Arrested” by North Point InsideOut

This song is a new one for me, and I just keep listening to it on repeat. Forever, WE ARE FREE! Please add this song to your playlist!

“Way Maker” by Voices of Lee

The Voices of Lee is an acapella ensemble from Lee University, and they are AWESOME. In this song, they mix together the son “Way Maker” and “Made a Way.” It is so good and reminds us that we overcome because God does make a way :).

Fives great songs about breaking chains and walking in freedom. Click to see the list!! Click To Tweet

“I’m Free” by: Lynda Randle and David Phelps (Gaither’s)

I love Southern Gospel music. It may not be your favorite, but it doesn’t change the power of the words in this song :).

“He Set Me Free”- The Gaithers

I seriously can’t even count the number of times I sang this song in the choir growing up. It’s up beat and you’ll be clapping along before you know it!

“Living Hope” by Phil Wickham

Jesus is our living hope. When we walk through the valleys of life, we need to always remember the hope we have in Christ. The only hopeless situations are ones without God.

In Closing

I hope you will take time to listen to all five of these songs. Who knows, maybe one of them will become your new favorite!

As mentioned earlier, this post is part of wrapping up the Break the Chains series where we have discussed how to get out of various strongholds and sins that can overtake our lives. You can see all of the posts by clicking here.

Until next week,

-Sarah
