VLOG: Three Thoughts that Make it Easy to Justify Sin

April 6, 2017

Jessica couldn’t help but overhear the group next to her talking about their weekend; the party, the fun, the alcohol, the boys. Thoughts raced through her mind, “It can’t be that bad, can it?”

Thoughts like that make it easier to justify sin, or to convince yourself that it’s really “not that bad.” In today’s vlog, I discuss three more of these thoughts and explain why they’re basically lies and what to think instead.

Thanks for watching! Read below for more about our ministry.

VLOG: The Difference Between Conviction and Condemnation

April 4, 2017

Consider the difference between the following scenarios:

  • You disobeyed your parents, or betray a friend, and you desperately wanted to confess it because you didn’t want your relationships to suffer.
  • You hurt a friend or parent, feel terrible about it, and try to deal with your guilt by distancing yourself from them.

In scenario one, the person feel sorry for what he/she has done and wants to make it right. In scenario two, the person feels guilty as well, but attempts to block out the people hurt.

Why it's important to know the difference between conviction & condemnation. Click To Tweet

The difference between these two reactions shows the difference between “conviction” and “condemnation.” Watch the vlog below to learn more about the IMPORTANT difference between the two and why that matters as a Christian.

Also, I wrote a book addressing the topics of sin, salvation, tolerance, and much more titled God’s Not Gray: Biblical Truth in a Society of Blurred Lines. Click below to learn more!

Two Biblical Truths Regarding the Reality of Sin in Our “Anything Goes” Culture

March 30, 2017

Two Truths Regarding the Reality of Sin in Our Anything Goes Culture| Christian Teens| Struggles| Sin| Transformed4More.com| Ministry for Teenage Girls

Jane became a Christian at the age of 12. She participated in all the “Christian” activities such as going to church, youth group, going on a mission trip, and keeping “sin” at bay. She felt strong in her beliefs until she turned sixteen. Two years of high school caused her to see behaviors she wanted to participate in, even though she knew it was against God’s word.

Many of her peers sinned freely and seemingly without any consequences. Jane was constantly reminded of the “fun” they were having every time she scrolled through her social media feed. “What’s the big deal?” she began to think. “I mean is there really anything wrong with what they’re doing? These acts and behaviors plastered everywhere, so it can’t be that bad, can it?”

VLOG: To Every Teen Who Thinks They Have a Boring Testimony- Three Reasons You Don’t

March 28, 2017

Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.” Many of us are familiar with this verse, but have you ever considered how powerful it is? To overcome the enemy, we need Jesus and our own remembrance of what God has done for us, aka our testimony. Testimonies are powerful.

Sometimes, however, you can feel like yours doesn’t measure up. Have you ever had a teenager or adult give a powerful testimony and it left you feeling like yours was inadequate or boring? Let me assure you that NO testimony is inadequate or boring. The verse above doesn’t say “They overcame…by a powerful testimony about coming out of addiction.”

No testimony is boring and this vlog explains three reasons why. Watch and be encouraged. 🙂

The first time she saw him, she was drawn to him. He was gorgeous and had eyes only for her. He made her feel wanted and desired- like she was the only girl in the world. Soon, a secret relationship began. She craved the time with him and slowly wanted more.

As the months progressed, she began to feel that something was wrong. As much as she craved him, she was never fully satisfied, so she began spending more and more time with him. She stayed up for hours at night on her phone, which in turn, affected her waking hours.

After more than a year, her obsession became more than she could take. She knew she had to find freedom from him, but how?
