How to Tell Your Parents You Struggle with Porn

March 4, 2019

A month or so ago, I opened an e-mail from one of our subscribers and it stunned me. In essence, the girl started watching porn when she was 12, and now after three years, she was completely consumed by it.

She discussed trying to stop on her own and her fear of not wanting to tell her parents since they had a “nice Christian family.”

I responded to her with a few questions, but I never heard back. However, I still wanted to make this video for her, and for anyone else, who needs to get this sin our of their life.

The video below briefly discusses the six steps to tell you parents about the struggle.

This video is not specific to porn, it will really work for any type of habitual sin that you want to get out of.

Also, here are some other posts that can help:

  • Porn: A Christian Girl Struggle too
  • Overcoming Secret Sins
  • Unashamed: Overcoming the Sins no Girl Wants to Talk About. The book below also greatly helps when it comes to conquering “secret sins”. It is very well written and extremely relatable  (note, it is an amazon affiliate link. That means if you purchase it through our link we earn a small commission at no cost to you). You can click the image to learn more.

I also have a video that gives parents suggestions on how to react when their teen admits to a porn habit. It may be easier to show them that video first and then tell them…? Just a thought.

Thank you for watching and feel free to share this with anyone you think may need it.

Also, this post is part of our “Break the Chains” series, where we discuss issues that rob teenagers of their joy. You can check out the entire series by clicking here.

Rooting for you,

-Sarah
